We are very excited to announce the public beta of our new Marketing Newsletter application. This beta will run through the end of September and will allow users access to all the benefits of the new version for free. This new version is a huge improvement to our Newsletter and is based on feature requests and feedback we’ve received from our customers.

We are dedicated to continuously making improvements to our platform and applications and I believe that this
Newsletter application is an important step to strengthen our platform as a whole. To learn more about the new newsletter application, take a tour at: http://go.sendgrid.com/

Nice, but still is necesary to have a tool that can select from a subscribers list just some based on custome field or let's say by language, by city, by country etc. Right now I have to create different lists for each language because there is no option to select them in newsletter design mode
Thanks for taking the time to give us some feedback! We’ve added your idea to our list of features to review for possible implementation. You may also post your idea here to gain further support from our community: http://community.sendgrid.com/sendgrid
Hey There Cipix,
You'll be happy to know that with this release we also have a renewed commitment to add features to our newsletter tool. One of the next features we'll be adding is list segmentation. We don't have a time frame available for this feature yet, but keep your eye on the blog.
Cheers,
Brian
List segmentation will be very useful, so glad to hear this will be implemented. Another requirement is the API update, that allow us to pass categories.
Will the newsletter API be updated further so that we have ability to post newsletters with the new features like split tests?
Finally, something which is not clear, is if we have to pay the CPM on top of our package, or if emails sent via the newsletter tool won't be counted as part of our email allowance which we subscribe for?

- I'd like to know this too; if is not counted as part of our allowance I will probably have to re-think my email solution. The "old" system was fine with me as I just cut n paste from Dreamweaver….improvements are always good, but if we have to pay extra per every email sent then it is no longer suitable for me
Just found this post; http://support.sendgrid.com/entries/22098256-octo…
Looks like they are charging $0.25/1000 "on top of" the monthly subscription
