SendGrid Spotlight: Denise Hulce

Posted on (0 Comments)

In our second installment of our “SendGrid Spotlights” series, we are excited to feature Denise Hulce, SendGrid’s VP of Sales and Business Development. The following is a guest post from Denise. The Startup Sprint No cab. No subway. Certainly no bus. Sprinting. That was the only way we were going to make it to a crucial meeting in downtown San Francisco. Sure, it was my very first day with SendGrid, and sure, when I arrived I’d be a sweaty, pulpy mess. But I was not alone. I was running with Isaac, one of the founders of the company. It seems like

Following on from Tim’s post about our hackathon adventuring in Europe over the past week, it’s my turn to highlight some of the excellence that came out of our time at the Kings of Code ‘Hack Battle’ during The Next Web conference that took place last week in Amsterdam. After taking the rather scenic train from Paris, Tim and I arrived in Amsterdam to discover that I’d booked myself into a hotel 120 miles away from where we were supposed to be. Several confused minutes later Spotify Hacker Advocate, and fellow Hack Battle supporter, Andrew Mager rocks up with some local

New Colors in our Stats Reporting

Posted on (0 Comments)

The following is a guest post from our UI Designer, Josh Tilton.  We recently released our new and improved Statistics section to give you better insight into what is happening with your emails. However, this ended up being a bit of a challenge to make sure that it was easy to clearly view all the multiple data points you have when it comes to email delivery. For data visualization, the color choices are paramount. We started off with a very “soft” palate that used many different shades of green and yellow. We quickly saw how troublesome this was in various charting

A Little Webhook Can Go a Long Way

The following is a guest post from Larry Silverman, CTO, EVP, and Co-founder of TrackAbout. TrackAbout wrote an open source service using SendGrid’s event webhook to relay email delivery failure events to a HipChat chat room. Learn more about Larry and TrackAbout at the bottom of this post. How TrackAbout Uses Email and Why We Chose SendGrid Our web applications, like most, send email. They send email to employees at TrackAbout, to our users, and to people of our users’ choosing. Getting email delivered is significantly harder than most would think, largely because you have zero control over the whims of the receiving

Command-lining SendGrid for Developer Productivity

Posted on (0 Comments)

I’m pretty bad at letting things break my flow. Twitter, Hacker News, the actual news, buying tech I don’t need; all things that are likely to happen if I leave my editor and head into the browser. Those tabs are just too damn easy to click on. Inspired by other developers and my fellow developer evangelists, I’ve been looking for ways to maximise my productivity when I’m coding. So, I decided to start building an application that would take the elements of SendGrid administration I was doing, remove the browser element, and bring it back to the terminal. The end
